How to Calculate Binance Futures PnL & Liquidation Price

Trading on Binance Futures, Bybit, or OKX can be highly profitable, but it is also risky if you don't know your numbers. Many traders enter a position without knowing their exact Liquidation Price or how much profit they will actually make after fees.

In this guide, we will break down the math behind Futures Trading, explaining Leverage, PnL (Profit and Loss), and ROE (Return on Equity).

1. What is PnL (Profit and Loss)?

PnL stands for "Profit and Loss". It is the actual amount of USDT you make or lose in a trade.

The PnL Formula (Long Position):

Profit = (Exit Price - Entry Price) × Position Size

Example: You buy 1 ETH at $2000 and sell at $2100. Your profit is $100. If you used 10x leverage, your profit is multiplied based on your margin.

2. Understanding Leverage & ROE

Leverage allows you to trade with more money than you have. ROE (Return on Equity) shows your profit percentage relative to your own money (Margin), not the total position size.

Scenario: You have $100. You use 10x Leverage.

3. What is Liquidation Price? (The Danger Zone)

This is the most critical number. If the market reaches this price, the exchange will forcibly close your trade, and you will lose your entire margin.
